Settings
Toggle Dr Jekyll / Mr Hyde
Define the hotkey that will toggle visibility of the
specified windows. Be sure that the hotkey is easy to press and
that it doesn't collide with any other application. Each
combination can be used only once in the Windows system therefore
it is recommended not to use combinations such as Ctrl+C (copy),
Ctrl+V (paste), Ctrl+P (print) and so on.
Evoke user interface
Define the hotkey that will pop up the main dialog window. Be
sure that the hotkey is easy to press and that it doesn't collide
with any other application. Each combination can be used only
once in the Windows system therefore it is recommended not to use
combinations such as Ctrl+C (copy), Ctrl+V (paste), Ctrl+P
(print) and so on.
If it happens that you are not able to pop up the main dialog
window any more due to the conflict of hotkeys, start Mr Hyde
once again. Then the main dialog window will be displayed and you
will be able to enter Settings to change the hotkey.
Windows to Hide
Create a list of windows that will be hidden when the hotkey
is pressed. It is possible to specify the windows with its title
(the visible caption), its class name, or both. It is possible to
specify only sub-strings of the real ones. For example, to hide
all instances of Notepad editor, enter one line into the list
specifying "Notepad" for the title.
Windows to Keep
Create a list of windows that should never be hidden. It is
possible to specify the windows with its title (the visible
caption), its class name, or both. It is possible to specify only
sub-strings of the real ones. This list may be empty. However,
for example, if you wish to hide all Notepad editor instances
except unsaved texts, you can specify "Notepad" in list
of window to be hiden and "Untitled - Notepad" in the
list of windows to be kept.
Load automatically with Windows
Keep the check box checked in order Mr Hyde is
started automatically when the Windows is loaded. The check box
creates entry in Windows registry. This is especially convenient
in order to keep Mr Hyde discreete as there is no
need for a shortcut on the Desktop, in the Start Menu, or in the
Startup folder.
Wait for Ctrl/Alt/Shift up
When a hotkey is pressed, either to toggle visibility of
windows or to bring up the user interface of Mr Hyde, when this
check box is on, the action is triggered when the last modifier
key (Control, Shift, Alt) is released on the keyboard.
Wait for a Hint window to
disappear
On Windows XP and higher, the hint (tooltip) windows get
an extra shadows behind them. These shadows were not painted
correctly, they remained party visibile on the screen. With this
option checked, when such a hint window is find when the hotkey
is hit to hide the windows, this hint window is deactivated
first. This brings an extra delay of half a second but ensures
that the shadows will be correctly hidden.
