Group caption
It is a short caption that will show up as a menu item in the
submenu View of the main menu. This will enable the user
to filter lines displayed by Log Viewer.
Color
It is a color that will be used to paint log lines that
belong the the relevant display group. All other lines are
painted in black.
Sound alert
It is the sound that will be played if the log content is
updated with a line that belongs the relevant group.
Log lines containing
One or more strings (one per line) that determine to which
display group a log line belongs. It is possible to specify only
a substring of the line. And the strings are case-sensitive.
Last entries at to of list
If checked the order of the log lines is reversed. The last
items added to a log are displayed at the top of the list.

Automated Open & Close |
 |
From folder
It is the folder where Log Viewer searches for log files when
the automated opening and closing of log files is on.
If file name matches one of the
date masks
Very often the names of log files contain the date when they
were created. If this option is checked and automated opening and
closing of log files is on, then Log Viewer will keep open files
if their names match the current date, and will close all the
others. Specify one or more format masks.
If file name matches one of the
wildcards masks
If this option is checked and automated opening and closing
of log files is on, then Log Viewer will keep open files if their
names match the specified wildcards, and will close all the
others. Specify one or more format masks.
Only if file date/time matches
the current date
If this option is checked and the automated opening and
closing of log files is on, then Log Viewer will open log files
only if their date/time stamp matches the current date. In other
words, it will keep open files that were created or modified
today, and will close files that are from yesterday or older.

View Updating
If Only when date/time stamp of log file changes is
selected then Log Viewer checks the log file each half a second
and if the date/time stamp of the log file changes it reads the
part of the file that is new. If the size of the file is the
same, the file is not read. If the current file size is lower
(the file seems to be shortened, or rewritten) the whole log file
is reloaded.
If Update each... is selected then Log Viewer checks the
size of the log file in the specified time intervals, regardless
its date/time. If the file grew it reads the part of the file
that is new. If the size of the file is the same, the file is not
read. If the current file size is lower (the file seems to be
shortened, or rewritten) the whole log file is reloaded.
Display Log Content
If All lines of the log is selected (default), Log
Viewer displays all the lines of the log file. The user can
browse the older entries.
If Only lines that were added since the log was opened displays
only new lines in the log. This way the whole content of the log
doesn't have to be loaded into the listbox and therefore it is
much faster with extremely large log files.
Font
The combo box Face enables to select a desired font
for displaying the log lines. By default Arial font is used,
however, for some kind of logs an equidistant font, such as
Curier New, can be more appropriate. The combo box Size
enables to select a font size for displaying the log lines. For
example it is possible to select an extremely big font if there
is a need to watch the monitor from a distance.
